AJS Logistic has completed a major expansion of its bonded warehouse facility at Port of Poti, significantly increasing capacity for TEU-equivalent storage. The expanded facility is now operational, enabling faster cargo processing, improved cross-docking services, and extended value-added operations for transit cargo moving through Georgia into Central Asian and European markets.
The expansion reflects AJS Logistic's commitment to building world-class infrastructure at one of the Middle Corridor's most strategically important nodes. Port of Poti is the primary gateway where Caspian Sea cargo transitions to Black Sea shipping lanes and onward rail and road networks into Europe — making bonded warehousing capacity here a critical enabler for the entire corridor.
New capabilities at the expanded facility include:
- Additional TEU-equivalent covered storage bays with bonded status
- Dedicated cross-docking lanes for faster cargo transfer between transport modes
- Enhanced cargo scanning and inventory management systems
- Extended value-added services: labelling, repacking, consolidation and deconsolidation
- Temperature-monitored zones for sensitive cargo
The bonded warehouse status allows AJS to hold cargo duty-free while transit procedures are completed — a key advantage for customers whose shipments may require temporary storage during multi-leg Middle Corridor transits. Customs procedures can now be coordinated directly from the warehouse, reducing cargo dwell time significantly.
Clients with existing AJS freight contracts will automatically benefit from priority access to the new capacity. For new enquiries about warehousing at Poti, contact our team directly.
